Classification
ME-92® Coating is a precision, USP Class VI, Tripartite/ISO and anti-microbial chromium coating. The coating improves the physical appearance and provides functional enhancements to instrument performance.
Process
The ME-92® Coating technology is a proprietary, low-temperature (160°F) process that applies a precise chromium coating to the component’s surface without altering the integrity of the base material. The ME-92 Coating can be applied to all varieties of stainless steel, tool steel, copper, brass, bronze and aluminum.
Appearance
ME-92® Coating provides a uniform, platinum
color. The color can also highlight a polished surface to maintain
a very shiny appearance.
Adhesion
ME-92® Coating is bonded directly to the base material. This unique process enables the coatings to adhere absolutely. The ME-92® Coating will not chip, flake or peel. The Coating is highly ductile and will not separate from the base material even when twisted, flexed or impacted.
Thickness
The deposit thickness of ME-92® Coating is engineered to meet the specific requirements of the customer. Normal deposit thickness ranges from 0.00004” to 0.0005” per side (1,0- 12,0 microns). An ME-92® sales engineer will assist you in selecting the proper deposit thickness for your specific application.
Hardness
ME-92® Coating exhibits a unique 80Rc surface hardness providing a highly durable and scratch-resistant finish.
